The Role

We provide integrated advice to private clients and/or their businesses on all aspects of tax planning, business consultancy and financial management. Our core client groups are:

The role will report to the Client Service Director / Practice Manager (Amber Fairhurst) and the key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- The Tax Manager will plan and supervise the preparation of all personal returns together with managing all aspects of personal tax compliance for a portfolio of (200) clients
- Manage client portfolio to ensure a good quality of service / advice is given to clients
- Identify planning opportunities for clients
- Lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings
- Manage, motivate and supervise support staff
- Where appropriate review work prepared by other team members
- To research detailed technical matters and report thereon
- Liaise with professional bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CTA) and suppliers / advisors
- Ad hoc non-compliance work as required
- Maintain time records and monitor performance against budget and proposed fees
- Prepare and conduct presentations/proposals and advice letters to clients, potential clients and staff
- Write monthly article for website/social media
- Internal (on the job) training of team members
- Keep technically up to date
- To contribute to the firm’s practice development
- To report details of any outstanding work when they are due to be away from the office for any reason.
